Nathan’s Spiritual Journey
Nathan Adu-Gyamfi’s spiritual journey is a blend of diverse and profound influences, shaped by the Judeo-Christian, Pentecostal-Charismatic, and Lutheran traditions. At the heart of his theology is the Lutheran understanding of grace—that salvation is a gift from God through faith in Jesus Christ, rooted in the divine inspiration of Scripture. While holding to the Scriptures' authority, Nathan also acknowledges that infallibility does not necessarily equate to inerrancy, which has broadened his theological reflection.
His passion for justice took root during his time at Theocracy Senior High School, where he bravely stood against bullying. This formative experience ignited his lifelong commitment to addressing oppression and social injustice, themes that are central to his faith and ministry today. From his Pentecostal-Charismatic background, Nathan draws deeply on the transformative power of the Holy Spirit and values the authenticity of emotional worship. Encounters with prophecy and deliverance, particularly through his experiences with Charismatic Prophets, have played a significant role in his spiritual formation.
Nathan’s connection to the Torah, prophetic writings, and Judaic festivals from his Judeo-Christian heritage has further deepened his ethical perspective, providing him with timeless wisdom that continues to shape his understanding of justice and Christ’s redemptive work.
Currently pursuing a Master of Divinity at Luther Seminary, Nathan remains dedicated to evolving his theological framework, integrating tradition with personal experience to guide his ongoing ministry with I AM BLACK. Through this journey, he seeks to empower Black and African communities to rediscover their faith as a powerful tool for liberation and personal transformation.
