As the I AM BLACK (IAB) ministry, we are deeply rooted in the Christian faith and guided by the belief that God created all people in His image. Our statement of faith affirms the theological foundation of our work as we seek to proclaim the Gospel, advocate for justice, and celebrate Black identity. We are committed to following Christ’s call to reconciliation and liberation, empowered by the Holy Spirit to confront systemic injustices and promote the flourishing of all people. This statement reflects our core beliefs and the guiding principles that shape our mission.

Theological Statement of Faith for IAB:

Reconnecting, Reconciling, and Resourcing Black and African People

We believe that God has called us to reconnect Black and African people with their cultural and spiritual roots, reconcile divisions within our communities, and provide the resources necessary for liberation and empowerment. Our mission is to see Black and African people renewed in their heritage and equipped to lead meaningful reform for the common good.

Heritage Quotes

“Overcoming poverty is not a task of charity, it is an act of justice. Like slavery and apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man-made and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings."

Nelson Mandela
